The preparation to celebrate the birth of Jesus began on 16th December with the Christmas Novena. During the Novenathe statue of Mother Mary was taken to the Senior Citizens rooms where the novena prayers were recited with much devotion. To mark the birth of Jesus, on the eve of Christmas, the statue of Baby Jesus was carried, in a solemn ceremony from the Chapel, and placed in the crib near the entrance of the home. This Joy of the birth of Jesus was felt in NSH in a very special way. The celebrations began with the visitation of the sisters to senior citizens in their rooms with carols and Christmas sweets.
The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Fr.Anto Vijayan, the Parish Priest of Rasayani Parish at 9.30 am. Soon after the Holy Mass a Nativity Skit was performed by the sisters. The live crib visited the senior citizens in their rooms and gave them Christmas blessings. They too joined in singing and dancing to the tune of the carols. In the evening some of the youth joined us with their short entertainment programme and added to the joy of the day.
